On the left, Google will display local results, with a map on the right.
Google has confirmed to Search Engine Land that a new local pack and map design is being rolled out in Google Search results. For desktop search results, the new design shifts the map to the right side of the local search results, often known as a “local pack.”
The confirmation from Google. “We’re always investigating methods to connect people with the helpful information they’re looking for,” a Google spokeswoman stated. When consumers search for places or businesses nearby, such as ‘parks near me’ or’restaurants near me,’ they’ll get local results on the left and a map on the right, thanks to an update to the Search experience on desktop. We anticipate that this will be widely available in the next weeks.”
The previous design. This is how it used to look, with the map at the top and the local results below it:
Testing. Google has been testing this new design for several months, and we only observed a surge in the amount of individuals who have seen it this week. In fact, I’ve been witnessing it personally in recent days. As a result, we requested Google to confirm the deployment, which it has done.
